Alternative Character sheet without fixed Skill List
Hello everyone and hello DDB Team!
I have a big wish which will most likely not come true ever, but I still have to ask:
I would love it immensely if we could get an alternative character sheet that doesn't feature the skill list as it is currently.
In my experience, this skill list only emphasizes and promotes players to think in terms of "skill-buttons to push" and not in terms of "in-character activities" and actually describing their actions.
They don't say "I open up all cupboards and chests, and look into pockets and boots", they say "I wanna roll Investigation".
No more "I keep a close eye on the king's counselor. Does he look nervous or is he acting weird?", it's "I wan't to roll Insight on the Counselor".
The list also doesn't help in applying the optional, but rather useful, rule of detaching Skill proficiencies and abilities.
So bottomline:
I would love to include Skill Proficiencies in the same list as weapon, armor, and tool proficiencies and have the skill list be replaced by e.g. a generalized list of 6 "proficient skills", one for each ability score (and maybe another 6 for expertise)
Alternatively, a bigger ability score area could include additional values for "bonus with proficiency" as well as passive scores for both with and without proficiency. This would bundle all relevant information at one place.
Well. That's it.

A good example of what such a sheet might look like is the Angry GM's character sheets - e.g. https://theangrygm.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Character_Sheet_Dnd_5e-No-Skills.pdf
