When designing any new feature for a class, race, spell, feat, or what have you, it is exceptionally helpful to know the prevalence of certain save-types that are invoked in play, especially against PC's. Not all saves are equal, for instance, in my last rough count of saving throw types invoked by monsters within the MM + Volo's, Dexterity saves clocked in at 117, while Constitution saves were required by 197 monster attacks, countering the commonly held assumption that Dexterity is the king of abilities in all aspects. Wisdom was 96 followed by Strength at 84, leaving Charisma and Intelligence with a lowly 16 and 11 respectively.
Given that monsters account for the overwhelming majority of attacks against PC's, this data is really vital for the purposes of creating balanced and well-crafted mechanics for all aspects of system design. Being able to sort and count such statistics would be, therefore, an incredibly helpful feature to have.
