Developer mentioned in Dev Update the challenge for this type of feature is players might "forget" (deliberately or not) to toggle off /reset the adjustment when the spell wears off during game play. For now at least (until they figure this out) you can customize and manually override your AC. Or you could override by typing in normal AC and in the field "Enter source notes" write "X with Mage Armor" (X being the modified AC).

I know about entering it manually, but as I mentioned the best fix for "forgetting" is resetting during a long rest. The thing is that's kind of a week excuse because it you put in manually your still likely to forget it. However, your also likely to leave it and for get you need to cast because of the annoyance of removing and adding it over and over. Its a lot easier to add it by casting the spell, then remove it with a quick drop down. Making it easier to do might not help people better at remembering but then they do its less of a distraction to fix it and that's the best you can hope for.

Don't get me wrong, I like the suggestion. I was just relaying what dev has said about this topic.

Adding Mage Armor as a "Condition" that resets on a long rest might be a good work-around. You'd still have to remember to toggle the Condition on, but a bit better than the current method (which I didn't even realize I could do until I came here to make this same request and read this).

This thread could apply to Shield spell as well.  I think a solution to "forgetting" that the spell is active would be to have the AC field glow or become highlighted with a strange color or something while the spell is active.

The ability for the DM to have a HUD of the campaign including HP, spell slots, active spells and features, and a time tracker would make this easier... They could see all active spells and mark down as hours pass so they fade automatically. It'd be a significant feature but one to think about. (Don't worry, it's already suggested in its own thread)

prompt to remove it during short rests as well as auto reset on a long rest.
Glow around the AC is a fantastic suggestion.

This is a must have for playing a Wizard. It becomes very difficult to manage without it. I'm sure this will fall to the much larger feature of status management tied into the encounter tracker.

Also, all other spell effects for buffs and debuffs, really.
