    There is absolutely no point in rebuying the Monsters Manual or Players Handbook online when I already have them in person. It's the same exact material, SAME material, except compiled into a database.

    If it was only $20 per book instead of the typical $60, maybe I'd buy it, to support the time spent making it into a database. I get that. However, to make it the same price, is literally ridiculous. Nope.

    Here is my bit.  I frequently find pdfs of the books online.  I read them and then I went out and bought them.  Reading the free pdf versions is what got me to purchase the hard copies.  I still use online databases to read the books when I don't have them handy.  Making me pay to unlock content is insulting.  If it was all available, I'd still buy the books, but since it isn't I'm just frustrated, and dnd beyond doesn't really help with my campaigns.
