Character Not Ready screen is confusing
New users often want to create characters but abort the process fairly early. Doing this creates a frustrating screen later.
When they have not selected a race, a class, and ability scores this leaves their character in an unfinished state. In the future, when this unfinished character is selected an alarming message appears. This message may be confusing and frustrating for new users.
Clicking the blue "Character Builder" button takes the user to the character builder allowing them to complete the creation of the character.
Presumably someone who does not OWN this character may see a similar dialog if they click on it, but of course, they cannot use the builder to complete the character that they do not own. This situation is NOT the subject of this feature request. This feature request only applies to the situation where this screen is presented to the OWNER of the character who has the ability to press the "Character Builder" button.
It seems to me that there might be a better way -- a more intuitive solution -- to handle this problem for new users who may not be expecting to see this screen. Since the user has no option except to go to the character builder and complete the character anyway... why not just automatically take them there? Then, highlight the first problematic missing field, perhaps in a visible red box. Finally, duplicate something similar to the above text in an overlay that points to the highlighted field: "This character is not complete! The current character is missing [whatever_the_missing_field_name_is], please select [whatever_the_missing_field_name_is] to continue the character creation process."
This character builder screen with highlighted field and accompanying text should allow the user to immediately see what is missing and what is required to continue creating their character. This seems to me like it would be a more friendly and intuitive experience, especially for a new user who just wants to continue where they left off.
