Why do I have to log in with my Twitch account? I thought this was D&D Beyond (or Curse).

I registered with DnD Beyond and the Twitch login prompt won't accept those credentials. The login link at the top of this page will accept my DnD Beyond credentials. The Twitch login prompt wants a user name. The Curse login prompt above asks for an email address. They don't act like they are the same login credentials.

    Hi there Lynn!

The login system here on the support portal is different from the one on D&D Beyond. The support portal has a different database. This is to ensure that our users can contact us even if they can't login on the website. If you select a nickname on D&D Beyond you should be all set! If you have further issues please don't hesitate to fill out our email form.

Hi, I registered on the site, I have a username, etc., but I'm finding myself unable to log in? So I thought maybe I don't have an actual account, but when I tried to enter my username, it said it was already taken, so I already have an account, why can't I sign in on a different device?

So, I have to pay money every month to Twitch for the privilege of buying stuff from you?!  Is this a joke?

I don't have (and don't want) a twitch account. Does that mean I can't access the D&D Beyond tools?

    Hi there!

You don't need to pay money to Twitch each month to use the website D&D Beyond. I am not sure where you got that from. A Twitch and D&D Beyond account is free.

Additionally, you do need a Twitch account to access the website.

I don't think this approach has been thought through too well. D&D is a game that is designed to be played by adults and kids alike, but Twitch accounts are not available to children under 13. So I'm running a game for my kids, and want to give them access to D&D Beyond to keep track of their characters (as it makes this part of the game much simpler and helps them to learn it), and so I can provide them with my homebrewed content, etc. I can't sign them up to Twitch without lying about their ages, so I can't have them use D&D Beyond unless I act against Twitch's terms of service.

(And, on another note, if D&D Beyond is only supposed to use Twitch accounts, why does this community support area support other login methods?!)

Come on Wizards/Curse, not everyone uses Twitch, and not every product is suitable to be limited by Twitch's terms of service. Think it through.

Hi, I registered D&D Beyond when it was possible to join and log in with a Google account, created some characters for some friends but got inactive for some time, now that I am back I wanted to recover those characters (or at least my D&D Username) but got unable to recover the account, it only redirected me to a Twitch account recovery, but not my D&D account, also the account creation tells me that my username is taken, is there a way to recover that account, the characters or at least delete it to create the account again with the same username ?

When will new people be able to create a D&D Beyond account without creating a Twitch account? I'm getting pushback from my new players who don't even know what Twitch is and don't want to have a Twitch account. It's actually pretty ridiculous that D&D Beyond hasn't created an alternate registration option yet. :/

I would appreciate if there were multiple ways to sign in - for example, to sign in to this support site, I just signed in using my Twitter handle. I know some sites like Obsidian Portal let you sign in using Google+, Twitter, Facebook, OR via username. I would vastly prefer multiple sign-in options because quite simply, I can't access Twitch on my work / day network! I understand D&D Beyond and Twitch are partners, but only having the one option is very inconvenient since many businesses block Twitch on account of it being a recreational website. Thanks

I created my account before twitch was involved but hadn't been signed out since creating characters so it hadn't been a problem. I had to reset my chrome settings and now it's logged me out I can't log back in without creating a new account with twitch, which means I can't access two characters that I'm actively using!

Is there any way to fix this? I really don't want to have to re-make my characters.

    Thanks.
